    Summary

    Suo Gân
    Welsh, meaning “lullaby”
suo = lull; cân = song

But this is not my mother.
This looks nothing like my mother.

When asked where I am from,
    what can I possibly say?
I am you, in part, I suppose
    I want to say, but I don't.

    — Erika L. Sánchez, from Lessons on Expulsion: Poems; “Crossing”

“I have my father's nose and all his rage, but I have my mother's face and her grief. / Rage, I have learned to wear. My mother's grief, however, folds my spine and lives beneath my ribs. It gets heavier and heavier.”

    — Fatima Aamer Bilal

    Mary now speaks to Christ:
    ‘Are you my son?—or God?
You are nailed to the cross.
    Where lies my homeward road?

How can I close my eyes,
    uncertain and afraid?
    Are you dead?—or alive?
    Are you my son?—or God?’

Christ speaks to her in turn:
    ‘Whether dead or alive,
    woman, it’s all the same—
son or God, I am thine.’

    — "Nature Morte.", Joseph Brodsky (tr George L. Kline)

    Summary

    Edwin is ignoring Charles.

They haven't spoken in almost twelve hours, and all because of a little incident involving some puppies. Yes, said incident may have been Charles' fault, but he has apologised a million times.

Charles is getting desperate to find a way to get Edwin to talk to him again, and a little walk away from the office provides just the thing Charles needs.

He hopes it will get Edwin to talk to him, but at the very least it will be a laugh.

    Summary

Edwin forgot his notebook at the office.

Not a problem. He prided himself on having an excellent memory. He certainly liked to jot down notes as he worked, but it wasn’t like he couldn’t work without it. He would just have to remember things until they returned to the office.

It was fine. He was a professional, and professionals did not delay an investigation because they forgot their notebook.

    OR

Just months after escaping Hell, Edwin accidentally forgets his notebook on a case. He does not handle it well. Luckily, his new best mate is there to help him out.

    Summary

Crystal jerked back, hitting her hip on the corner of the desk. Her body was on high alert mode and she couldn’t seem to catch her breath. Tears that didn’t belong to her streamed down her face as her heart pounded in her ears. Edwin was standing far away from her, his hands out like he was taming a wild animal. His expression looked as delicate as glass.
“Did you…” He trailed off, unwilling to finish his sentence. He looked absolutely terrified.
“I-” Crystal cleared her throat. “It was an accident.”

Working closely with Kepler will put you through one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Unfortunately for Jacobi, he's always very close to Kepler.

    or

Five times Jacobi endured Kepler's inconsistency + the last time he could.
