Summary
The guy gets straight to the point, asking, "What do you need?" in a dull, bored voice.
"My best friend is going to die. I want that to… not happen."
"No small feat, bringing back the dead. And it comes at a cost."
It's Eddie. Buck says, "Yes," without a second thought.

Summary
“We were friends in high school,” Eddie says, and the words seem to warp in his mouth with how much he’s not saying. “We had a fight, then Shannon got pregnant and we stopped talking. It’s the first time I’ve seen him in years. Probably the last time I'll see him in my life. Okay?”
“Eddie, I don’t know what you think ‘friends’ means, but that was not friendship I saw.”

In which Eddie keeps secrets and Buck is incredibly normal and rational and even brave about his reaction to this.

Summary
Buck doesn’t think, just says, “Hey Eds, you wanna?” Half to wipe that caught-out look off his friend’s face and half because, well. Buck doesn’t not want to. It would be fun, something to do to pass some time in the most stressful month of everyone’s lives.
Eddie sits back so he’s between Buck’s thighs instead of on top of him and is slow to answer. Buck waits, and finally he answers, “Should we?”
or,
Buck and Eddie get into a friends with benefits situation that quickly spirals out of control.

Summary
Buck sits in the locker room at the end of his shift, his cell phone in his hand. There's a photo of Christopher and Eddie on his lock screen; it was taken a few months ago when the three of them had taken a drive up to Topanga one weekend. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the two of them were sitting with their backs to the camera, Eddie's arm around his son's shoulders as they looked out at the broad expanse of the Pacific.
Buck had loved the picture when he'd taken it – it was pretty arty for a cell phone snapshot – but now it just makes him feel alone. Like he's on the outside looking in.
Like maybe he always will be.

Summary
Buck takes it to the grave.
He doesn’t mean to. It’s just—with all that time he spent teasing death, all the motorcycles and factory fires and blood-coated grenades—death gets impatient, in the end. Right as he’s starting to take life seriously. After he puts his name on the lease, buys life a ring, like, I’m in this for the long haul. Death gets jealous, and Buck falls through a second-story floor onto a derelict wrought-iron stair rail, and his femoral artery begins the quick but methodical work of leaking out the next fifty or sixty years of his life onto the charred tile floor. -

Summary
“You forgot this at my place,” he says, dropping a set of keys into Eddie’s hand. “Figured you’d need them to get home.”
“Oh,” Eddie says, looking down at his own hand for a second before aiming a grin up at Tommy, who’s got one or two inches on him. “Thanks.”
Tommy’s resulting grin fades into a wince when he glances over Eddie’s shoulder and catches the surprise on Chim’s face. “Sorry, is it, like, disrespectful to wear hats in here? Like in school?” He tugs the beanie off, and he’s got dirty blond curls that tumble loosely over his forehead.
Chim blinks, then blinks again, because with the hair Eddie's...friend almost looks like—No. He can’t look like Buck, actually, because that would be the funniest thing to ever happen in the history of humankind and Chimney would have to quit his job to dedicate the rest of his life to laughing about it.

Summary
eddie's not entirely sure he believes in getting help, at least not for himself. there's only so much healing to be had for a body torn apart by bullets, for a mind that's only half there, for a man who's been leaving pieces of himself behind all his life with nothing to take their place.
except, as it turns out, falling apart happens in increments, and healing does, too: it happens when you gnaw a hole in your lip trying to keep quiet only to have the words escape; when you realize that the ghost you've been seeing out of the corner of your eye is yourself; when your best friend smiles, and you allow it to take your breath away.
it happens through the smallest of things: bird feeders, and cacti, and pasta shapes.
meanwhile, the world goes on.

Summary
After Metatron steals Castiel's grace, and Cas comes to live in the bunker, Dean spends a lot of time with him, sharing all of his favourite things. Dean can't help it if sharing things with Cas just makes everything better. Besides, it's Dean's job as Cas' friend to introduce him to the joys of human life. To teach him how to be human.
And if one of the experiences they end up sharing is sex with women, well... that's just part of Dean's job as Cas' friend too, right?
The desire is triangulated, the rituals are intricate.
*
“You know you can’t turn Cas into a mini-Dean,” Sam said“First, if I did, Cas'd be all set, 'cause I'm awesome,” Dean said. “Second, that’s not what this is about. Cas needs to know how to get by in the world. He needs someone to teach him how to just be a guy.”
Sam’s face scrunched up. “He already is just a guy.”
“But he doesn’t know how to be one,” Dean insisted, like it was an obvious fact, and Sam was a little dim for not getting it.

“Right,” Dean says. He nods to himself and tries to believe that Cas means it when he says he’s going to stay. “Right, and Jack, he brought you back?”
Cas smiles softly. “Yes, it took him time to figure out how to use his powers in a way that he could reach me, but he succeeded. We had our own reunion and discussion before he brought me here.” He looks back at Dean. “You have, apparently, been quite the talk of Heaven.”
Dean frowns and finally pulls away. He would be worried, maybe is a little bit, because when do they ever really catch a fucking break, but Cas is looking at him with something so fragile in his eyes. Something light and hopeful and sad all at the same time.
“What’d I do now?”
Cas looks at him like his heart is breaking. “You prayed my name to every angel in Heaven for six days straight.”

Summary
Despite their age gap and differing social circles, Castiel has struck up a warm friendship with Mary Winchester, a wealthy widowed socialite. When Castiel needs a place to stay, Mary invites him into her house, where there’s loads of spare room. Castiel’s aware that they make an odd pair, but he doesn’t fully realize how things look to outsiders, especially to Mary’s eldest son. All Dean Winchester sees is that his mom has apparently hooked up with a hot young guy (who is totally Dean’s type) and that makes things… weird.

Summary
Charlie sets her beer down hard on the counter, making him flinch. “Are you trying to invent a problem?” she asks incredulously.
“What? No, dude, I’m telling you—”
“Your boyfriend turned down sex twice, once because you were concussed and your arm was broken, and once because he was about to drive out of state to help your brother,” Charlie summarises, brutal and unrelenting. “And you think that, what? You can never ask him for sex again because of that?”
Dean’s been playing catch-up his entire life, and he’s still figuring out the whole “asking for what I want” thing.
