In the aftermath, Nezha was so bone down tired, the weariness he felt ran so deep in him, a visceral feeling of being broken and put back together, where bits and pieces didn't fit right anymore, a broken puppet who refused to be put down by its puppeteer, being forced to perform in a shadow show until there was nothing left of him.
He didn’t use to dream about anything back then, the usual three hours of sleep he had during the early hours of morning when the world was silent and still were the closest he could get of a semblance of peace. And for the longest time, he thought that was all there could be for him.
