Summary
Two men in red wedding silks approach an ancestral shrine, within a temple of cedarwood. A red ribbon is placed, carefully and by both the men’s hands, in the center of the altar.
To their eyes and those of the crowd below, the ribbon does not change.
On the spiritual plane, though… it lights up.

In their new home and community, WWX and LWJ built an ancestral shrine to their mothers, bowing to them on their wedding day. Their ceremony involved a symbolic red ribbon of fate, and when they placed it on their mothers' altar as an offering, their spirits were summoned to see just how happy their sons have become.

for anyone who may find it useful to have open in a side tab while reading MDZS fics~
watching MDZS since 2020 was a steep learning curve for me — I'd never watched a show in Chinese language before! and captions aren't always the most reliable translations... I had to start start keeping track of what I'd learned.
and I figured this might be helpful to someone else. also, I'm a slut for languages, so this was just fun!
