“You seem bored.” Lewis shrugs and grins, his eyes crinkling. Nico is momentarily distracted by how gorgeous he is and Lewis interlaces their fingers. “Have you considered knitting?”
Nico blinks before he pushes him almost off the sofa. “Fuck off.”

It didn’t feel like that, not really. It felt like he’d won the war but lost the reason he’d been fighting. Lost the one person who made victory worth fighting for.

Lewis and Nico break up after Nico wins the 2016 Driver’s Championship. Lewis chooses racing over Nico, and he’s convinced it’s the only choice he can make. But as the 2017 season begins, Lewis sees younger drivers falling in love and making their relationships work. Through his skepticism, he wonders if he let go of Nico too easily. He wonders if maybe he doesn’t have to choose between the two loves of his life after all.
