Summary
Sweet Pea scoffs. “Tell me. Who are you taking home for Christmas?”
“This is different. Betty is my childhood friend and we always spend the holidays together. This is nothing new.”
“Exactly. You two have been acting like you've been in a relationship for years.”
Jughead tries to come up with a counter argument-which he is usually good at but only succeeds in an exasperated sigh.
“Listen, all I'm saying is to stop lying to yourself and tell her how you feel. I think the outcome would surprise you.”
“I’m not sure how to.” He admits fiddling with the ribbon he has yet to tie on the gift.
“You have a whole four-hour road trip to tell her. Now if you can excuse me I have to go listen to Betty’s unnecessarily long list of instructions regarding your cat.” Sweet Pea teases with a wink before exiting his room.
Jughead sighs as he tucks the wrapped gift into his bag and zips it closed.
This Christmas is definitely going to be interesting.
Or, when Betty and Jughead go on a road trip to visit his family for Christmas, a few detours ensue.

Summary
Usually, his best ideas come at late hours when everyone is asleep and the only sound is the tapping of keys. Though lately, the satisfying symphony of flowing words has been harder to come by. Instead, he finds himself craving a different symphony that involves the crescendo of Betty’s moans along with the tempo of their skin slapping together with every one of his sharp thrusts.
It’s not new information that he focuses better when she is around. Something about his girlfriend just inspires all of his best ideas. She’ll always be the first to hear his ideas and read over his work. Jughead would be lying if he said he wasn’t aroused when she would give him such articulate and well-thought critiques. While she is a big influence in his writing process, he never expected their sexual relationship to be an added factor.
Then again, neither of them seem to be complaining about this new development which was discovered completely by accident.

Summary
“What are you thinking about?” Jughead asks as he twirls a strand of her hair around his finger.
“Nothing.” She says as she buries her face into his chest and breathes in his scent.
He chuckles lightly, and the vibrations from it are stimulating, and then lifts her chin with his index finger and thumb so she can look at him. “I know there is way too much that goes on in that wonderful mind for there to be nothing.” He turns them so that her back is on the bed and he is halfway on top of her. “Tell me.”
“What do you miss most about being human?”
Or, contrary to old folklore, Betty doesn't like the night, but luckily Jughead is there to comfort her.

Summary
“Remind me why we are doing this again?” Jughead asks begrudgingly as he finishes his trudge up the hill behind Betty who has already picked a spot under a large tree that provides much shade despite the cloudy day.
“Because picnics are fun.” She counters brightly as she spreads the large blanket out. “It’s a nice day.” She gestures to the dark clouds above them.
It’s quite the enigma as most people consider this kind of weather as inappropriate for an activity like a picnic. Though most people don’t have an over sensitivity to sunlight and need blood as their main source of food. Jughead has learned a lot of things in his life are quite enigmatic and while some take more adjustment than others, he’s grown rather fond of a good enigma.
Or, Betty and Jughead spend their day with a nice picnic, unconventional lifestyles aside.

Summary
The morning of his eighteenth birthday is cold and rainy. He can hear the pitter pattering rain on the trailer roof as he wakes up. He remembers the date and looks on his wrist. For a moment he lets himself hope despite his distaste towards soul marks that maybe he has fifty or sixty years to find his soulmate. The moment of hope diminishes and is replaced with dread swirling through his gut when he sees the black writing on his wrist.
One morbid date.
One terrifyingly final date on his wrist, and an initial in dainty little letters. He’s almost afraid they would blow away with the delicacy of them yet they are so final and so lethal.

Summary
“You guys want to join us?” Her voice is like golden syrup, light and warm. Archie is still frozen, so Jughead takes the bait, unsure where his uncharacteristic lightness and confidence come from.
“Only if you’re treating.” He saunters over to their booth and hops around the bench, climbing over and into the vacancy next to Veronica. “Long time no see, Betty.” An understatement; he’s not sure she remembers seeing him at all.
She smiles back, genuinely, and sighs, “Wow. Jughead Jones.”
“The third,” is all he can manage, taken aback by her clear memory of him and the way she searches his face for hints of the boy she had met, once.

Summary
Jughead rounds the corner of the building cautiously, unsure what the muffled scrabbling noise is or what he’s about to walk into. He needn’t have worried because the sight that greets him is more amusing than worrisome; a pair of very toned legs clad in black leggings are flailing spectacularly to wedge through the open window that their owner’s torso has already cleared. They’re sporting a pair of familiar spotless pink shoes that Jughead knows from lit class.
He clears his throat. “Uh, Betty? You okay over there?”
The legs stiffen and then an embarrassed voice responds. “I got locked out of the dorm.”

Summary
Betty loves flowers.
She harbored some resentment for them for some time after her mother smothered her childhood home with them, probably to mask the reality of the house that had a serial killer living there. So for some time, Betty hated them.
She’d begun re-thinking her opinion when he brings her home a single red rose.
