Summary
A few years after the ending of season three, Hardy and Miller get called to a house where a little boy who is autistic is being abused. Hardy deals with the situation in a different way than Ellie had imagined, and this gives her some thinking time. When he calls her later that night, sobbing, she wonders if maybe the job hit him a little too hard.
Or, alternatively, just some Hardy whump. A job hits him a little too close to home. He has a breakdown but Ellie manages to help him.
