Following the ill-fated holiday in Broadchurch, Zee finally engages a therapist to help her work through the lingering trauma of her time with Kilgrave. In particular, she hopes to rebuild the fulfilling sexual relationships she had before, but that will take time and effort, and her new therapist Doctor Scott encourages her to begin from the foundations to build upwards; going back to the start and viewing her relationships through the new perspective she has now, rather than simply yearning for what she once had. Step by step, she finds her way back, proving a handful for her therapist along the way.
Zee is not the only one impacted by the trauma of interactions with the mind-controlling doppelganger though, and her friends and partners find themselves exploring new angles in their relationships with each other too, with fresh dynamics emerging, and lots of new experiences.
Ultimately, love and friendship is what holds them all together. And as they celebrate Aziraphale's birthday, Christmas, and later Zee's birthday, there is enough fun, romance, and joy to heal them all.
