The sight of him standing there, almost taunting you with that deadly crooked smile sends a sudden thrill through you. Hate and longing rolled into one confusing, tangled-up mess.
You snap, face tight, “No. You have not.”
Liar.
His head tilts forward just a bit, the orange glow of the fireplace highlighting his cheekbones and illuminating his eyes, “Hm. Maybe I should try harder. I’m bound to touch the right one eventually.”
Astarion rubs you the wrong way, in every sense of the phrase. So why can't you stay away?

It's too dangerous to get attached. Deep down, you know that it's not smart to let yourself get attached to anyone in this situation, much less romantically. You've seen how fast things can turn for the worst, how many times you've managed to narrowly escape death. If you allow yourself to become attached to Gerard and something happens to him, you might cease to function. Maybe if you had met him a different way, things would be different, but this is what you have to live with instead. This is the soulless world you live in, which reserves no place for romance.
-slow burn zombie apocalypse fic where the zombies are the least of everyone’s problems. Heavily based around nostalgia for apocalypse fics I used to read back in my Quotev phase. Cheesy in a nostalgic way, imo.

Hijinks, humour and horror continue, as you attempt to find your way back to your correct time period without changing too much of the course of history, despite the fame, money and lifestyle tempting you to stay,
Oh, and Gerard Way, frontman of one of your favourite bands as a teenager, seems to have taken an interest in you.
