Kristoph wasn’t a bad brother. Not at first.
He had a smile that made Klavier felt warm. He had calloused hands that were so soft as they ruffled Klavier’s hair. He came to every concert, he laughed at every joke.
Which made it hurt all the more when that gavel came down. -

“There’s something we need to talk about.” Miles starts.
Trucy seems unfazed. He isn’t sure if he should think of that as a good thing or not. “About my papa, right?”
Children can be quite intuitive sometimes, Miles admits. “That’s correct. It’s been two weeks since he’s disappeared, and you…should start considering future prospects. I did some calling around, and I found you have no living relatives.”

…He was nothing without a perfect win record.
Which, of course, made it hurt all the more when he got his first Not Guilty verdict.or
