Summary
Andrew just wants.
He was afraid he wouldn’t remember how to without Eddie. All of Andrew’s wanting was always so intrinsically tied up in the pathways of Eddie’s veins, seemingly born and cradled in Eddie’s blood, held within him so tightly, Andrew thought it would die right along with him.
It didn’t.
Oh, how it didn’t.
It burns brightly in him for Sam Halse, his want. It flows through him easier than anything, more intoxicating than any drug.
or, after the ending of summer sons andrew and sam figure some things out and fuck nasty about it

Summary
An ambush on a beach has Stede and Ed racing for their lives. They're being chased, running right towards where the rest of the crew is waiting to back them up. They only have to make it a little further, Ed leading the way as bullets fly around them.
When Stede stumbles, Ed knows he must have just tripped over something in the sand. There's always shit in the sand to trip over.

Summary
Eddie wants to scream. Eddie wants to talk to Buck. There are questions he should ask - Do you know when the bleeding started? How long has it been? How bad does it hurt? Are you injured anywhere else? There is a conversation he wants to have - If I leave you here I don’t know that you’ll be alive when I get back. There are protocols, in disaster situations. If you can only save one person, you save the one most likely to survive. Beyond protocol, you always fucking save the kid. Beyond that, it's our kid. It’s our fucking kid, it’s Christopher, and I am going to get him to the surface and in doing so I am going to leave you for dead. But it’s Buck, and they never really needed words to talk, and Buck is still looking at him, and Eddie knows what he'd say. He'd downplay the injury. He knows the protocol. And he’d already said it, damned him out loud, he’s going to take you back up top and then come back for me.

Summary
“You’re gonna be fine,” says Eddie again, and Buck hates that he can parse out the slight waver that wasn’t there the first time. Buck doesn’t have the heart to disagree with him, even if they both know it isn’t true.

Summary
Buck should’ve seen it coming, is the thing. He should have seen the way he was rushing towards it, full steam ahead like a train wreck you can’t look away from, because you’re the one driving, the one shoveling coal into the engine. Spinning out faster and faster and—
Buck knows trains don’t work like that anymore, but his hands are still sooty, aren’t they? His shoulders still ache with the strain of shoveling himself faster towards the crash.
OR:
Buck tries to save a kid.
