Hyun-tak isn’t the type of guy to thinks too much before speaking. Or before throwing a punch. Which works fine, most of the time.
But that's only until Seong-je starts showing up again. Not with fists, not with backup, but with that fucking smile full of teeth. The uncanny ability to press the right button, and then act like he didn’t mean to.
Except… The threats that don’t actually sound like threats. His laughs, the way he touches Hyun-tak.
They are to make Hyun-tak react. Too fast, too confused, too caught between the fight and his will to protect his friends.
He doesn’t get it. Doesn’t want to get it. But he letting it happen without knowing why.
Letting Seong-je get close enough to leave a mark.

" Humin-ah?", a quiet voice suddenly called, the boy's eyes, still hazy from both sleep and medication, widening in panic when Humin's reaction was to flinch and stand up.
It was only after the comforting warmth was yanked away from his hand that he realised Humin had been holding him.
" Don't leave.", he spoke again in a hurry, voice harsh and raspy, but still soft in such an odd way.
"I'll just go get a nurse.", Humin simply replied and it sounded so uncharacteristically awkward and hesitant that Hyuntak had to sigh.
"I meant in general.", he rushed to say, before Humin could go too far.
And he'd blame his raw honesty to the medicine and fatigue, but he found himself regretting nothing as he spoke again,
