Eijirou Kirishima grows up next door to the Rappas, who care for him during his mother's late shifts at the hospital. The Rappas' son Kendo should be the ideal playmate—he's an alpha just like Kirishima and only two years older than him. As they grow up together, however, Kendo Rappa becomes...aggressive. Almost villainous. He insists that no omega is tough enough to handle him, but he's still adamant that he'll only take an omega as a mate—and Kirishima doesn't understand what he really wants until it's too late.
Most of this fic is set during Kirishima's first year at U.A. following traumatic events. The primary ship is bakukiri...with complications. It's second person POV but not reader-insert. If you're not used to 2nd POV, give it a chance—maybe you'll be surprised!

Sero lets out a slow sigh. “…Okay, yeah,” he says, mostly to himself. He goes to Todoroki and lets the alpha pull him in, baring his neck so Todoroki can lean into him and press his brisk scent against his skin. Todoroki inhales deeply and hums with mild disappointment when no scent greets him. “Sorry,” Sero says wryly. “Still a beta.”
Sero’s a regular guy dating a world famous actor, alpha Todoroki Shouto. He doesn’t know what to expect for his first rut share, but he’s gonna learn!

Candy-Cane is there, laying on the bed with Kirishima. They’re facing each other with their legs intertwined, wearing nothing but sweatpants. They have their arms casually draped over each other, toying with each others’ hair, stroking each others’ backs. Their faces are close, and they look each other in the eyes, soft, affectionate, and loving. It sends a shiver down your spine. You watch for a moment, unable to hear what they’re saying to each other so quietly and intimately. And then you kick in the door.

Kirishima brings up Bakugou one day as he and Kaminari are eating together in the campus cafeteria. Super casual, like yeah-I-saw-this-guy-on-TV-once, and not I’ve-watched-literally-every-single-interview-he’s-ever-even-been-in-the-background-of-and-wouldn’t-mind-having-his-babies.
“Oh, him,” Kaminari says. “Eh, he’s popular lately, I guess. Don’t see what all the hype's about.”
Kirishima feels lightheaded. “You—you don’t see the hype—” he splutters. “He’s incredible, dude.”
Kaminari just eyes him.

He’s about to open his door to go to the shared bathroom on this floor when he notices the scrap of paper that’s been pushed under his door. It’s a salmon-colored flashcard, the type that’s sold in 500-packs with multiple colors. Bakugou stoops to retrieve it, frowning at the message he finds written on it.
Hey neighbor, welcome to the house! I heard you knocking things around, yesterday, and I think you maybe punched a wall? Anyway, the landlady gets pissy if you put holes in the wall, but I have a punching bag! You can come over and use it, or I can move it into the hall, if you want!
There’s only one other bedroom on the fourth floor. Now, Bakugou crosses the hall to the bedroom on the right side, slamming the post-it note against the door.
Fuck off and die, it reads.
Bakugou Katsuki is not going to jeopardize his future a second time, and that means staying away from anyone who gets too close. Kirishima Eijirou has never learned how not to be close to someone. Of course, they end up as next-door neighbors.
