He pushes Lu back—not harshly, but with intent. Lu’s back hits the file cabinet with a dull thud. Cheng grabs his wrists, pinning them above his head with one hand. The other slips under Lu’s shirt—slow, exploratory, fingertips skating across sharp ribs and tense muscles.
Lu shivers.
"You’re always so in control," Cheng murmurs, voice rough at the edges. "But right now? You’re mine."
Lu tries to glare. But Cheng kisses him again, and the sound Lu makes—a quiet, stifled gasp—betrays everything.
After a tense dive leaves Lu Guang rattled and silent, Cheng Xiaoshi decides to push — just a little. He’s used to teasing, to the quiet back-and-forth dance of tension between them. But this time, Lu snaps. And once the cracks show, Cheng doesn’t stop until he’s pulled Lu apart piece by piece — not with force, but with heat, with care, with the kind of soft ferocity only years of longing can make sharp.

Summary
Lu Guang licks his way into Cheng Xiaoshi's mouth like he's thirsty. Like kissing Cheng Xiaoshi will fill his cup up until it spilled over and drowned them both. He holds Cheng Xiaoshi's face in the palms of his shaking hands and knocks their teeth together as they kiss like it's their last one. He always kisses Cheng Xiaoshi so desperately. As if he's searing the memory of their kiss onto his lips because he's afraid that's all he'll have left once it's done.
And Cheng Xiaoshi meets the desperation with purposeful strokes of his tongue along Lu Guang's. With his hands running patterns of circles and hearts and proclamations of forever, I'm yours along the arch of Lu Guang's spine. He slows their kissing down because it's a reminder they have all the time in the world. That this is theirs and only theirs and whatever they have will last. Because Cheng Xiaoshi will make it last.

Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi’s vision blurred in and out as a silhouette of blinding white came into view, staring down at him. He thought it was the sun at first.
But Lu Guang’s voice rang in and out of his ears. “…Killing yourself.”
What was he saying?
The last words he heard before passing out came from Lu Guang’s mouth, as he moved too close and placed his palm over his eyes to shield him from the blinding sun.
“Too nice.”
Where Lu Guang fails to save Cheng Xiaoshi, the excessive diving finally wears him down and they both die. Lu Guang becomes a demon and Cheng Xiaoshi, a fallen angel. But even in death Lu Guang is unwilling to move on.
