Will immediately starts back up the stairs, anxious about the conversation that’s about to happen, and Jonathan’s right on his tail in no time.
“What’s going on? What happened?” he asks in a hushed tone. They reach the top and he takes Will’s arm. “Why is he here?” When Will doesn’t answer right away, Jonathan softens and slows down. “Did…Did you tell him? Does he know?”
“No,” Will sighs heavily.
“Then why—”
Will shushes him. He peeks down the stairs before pulling Jonathan into one of the guestrooms, shutting the door behind him. Even with the added barrier, he still decides to whisper.
“He…found me.” Will feels embarrassed saying it, like it’s been one giant game of hide and seek. Which…he supposes it has been.
Jonathan’s brows crease. “Found you?”
