“That’s a good record.” He comments, grabbing her attention.
She looks over at him, then looks back at the record and takes it out of the lineup and into her hands, “Hep Alien.”
“Yeah, I think they're a new band, just came out with this about a week or so ago. It was pretty good.” He tells her.
“Alright,” she smiles at him, “I’ll get it then. Thanks.” He nods in place of a “you’re welcome” and she picks up the rest of her records and moves towards check-out. Jess moves back to skimming the Is. He glances up at her at check-out, digging money out of her pockets. She glances back, giving him a smile before handing the money to the cashier and taking her bag of records.

She starts to worry that she is going completely insane. She writes him letters that go directly into the trash can. She plans impassioned speeches of what she wants to say if she ever sees him again. One time, she stays up all night very seriously writing a pro/con list about driving to Philadelphia to profess her undying love for him. The next day, she decides that she never wants to see his stupid face ever again.
All told, when she steps through the door to Luke’s diner on the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving only to see Jess Mariano behind the counter, she is 100% certain that she is hallucinating his image. Calmly thinks, ‘Oh. So this is what a psychotic break feels like.’

AKA... Season 6 Literati as they SHOULD have been written! Actual communication, reignited passion, non-stop banter, and a decent amount of smut. Canon compliant up until 6x8, then we're finishing out S6 the right way.
