Summary
Raphael was in deep. After years of friendship and fighting side by side, his feelings for Casey Jones had grown, deepened, and transformed. But his fears of rejection and ruining an irreplaceable friendship hold him back from confessing. Well that and he doesn’t even know if Casey’s into guys. How can he even ask him that five years into their friendship?
After a series of confusing moments and “almosts” it’s up to one of them (and maybe Raphael’s brothers) to finally get them on the same page.

But now Mikey’s hovering halfway out of the hole in the ground, the manhole cover growing increasingly more dense against his shoulder where it’d been precariously perched, frozen like a deer in the headlights (or a turtle in the sewer he supposes would be the more appropriate way around it) as the human standing above him with the pizza box clutched in his hands just… stares at him in awe with wide, round eyes.
Mikey wonders if he could get away with just nabbing the pie and making a run for it. There’s not much of a chance anyone would follow someone down into a city sewer even if they thought they could snap a couple of pics of whatever weird and freaky creature they’d just seen, send it into some tacky social media news site and earn a couple of bucks for it all.
But the kid doesn’t make a grab for his phone. He doesn’t scream or run away or rub his eyes in some comedic fashion like he was out of an old time-y cartoon.
He just huffs a gentle sounding laugh, the corners of his mouth lifting into the smallest of smiles and he says, his words fitting around a thick Brooklyn accent,
“Hey,” he says like it’s nothing. He makes it feel like it’s nothing. “Least you left a decent tip.”

Casey is big on physical contact. He’s the kind of guy who shows affection through touch, the kind of guy who communicates with his whole body. This isn’t necessarily a problem. Raphael has gotten used to it.
Except for the part where he keeps touching Raph in ways that set off the turtle side of his brain. Except for the part where all those touches start to make Raph catch feelings. That is a problem.
