Summary
“You are a little in love with your best friend” Dream read aloud. It’s weird how this same, simple quiz was able to look into his soul and cut open his feelings for all of his fans and, more importantly, George to see. Dream was obviously shaken up by the results of the quiz, but he had to play it cool. He couldn’t stop thinking about the 10,000 and something people that were silently listening to him and George’s conversation, analyzing and reacting to everything they were saying.
Based off of the real life events when Dream took a "Are you in Love with Your Best Friend?" quiz in his merch discord with George.

“I just,” Dream’s voice was feverish. “I don’t want to be your… your way of getting over him. Like, a rebound fling, or something. But I also don’t want to matter to the point of this going beyond a memory. I don’t want commitment, I want a fling, like— a reason to make this tour more doable. But I don’t want it to have to do with him. Does that make sense?”
It hurt, it hurt like hell, but it did. Through the stinking pain, the slight rejection in his words, George nodded.
“I don’t have the energy to fall in love with you again,” George’s british accent came out strong through his whispers. The moment the sentence left his lips, Dream pulled George’s face towards his own and aligned their lips. The kiss was soft, relieving— far more wholesome and soft than the sensualness of the night previous. Dream pulled back, staring into George’s eyes. He wore his heart on his sleeve, but George could never manage to read him. What he was thinking, what he wanted were all so blurry.
Making an agreement not to last is hard, but necessary. George knew they wouldn’t. Something this good isn’t for a lifetime, only a summer or two.
