Summary
Eddie had swallowed and said, again, “I am gay.” Then Buck had started rapidly blinking, as if the movement of his eyes might somehow generate enough energy for his brain to reboot into something resembling sentience.

Summary
When Eddie finally confesses his love for Buck, instead of bringing them together, it breaks them.
OR
Eddie turned off the engine of his truck and took a deep breath. He looked toward the house that held so much of his hope and just as much of his fear. He was still unsure if this was the right thing to do, but he knew this was now or never. He was going to tell Buck that he was in love with him. That could never be the wrong thing to say.
What made Eddie doubt himself wasn’t even the fear of rejection, although even thinking about it made his heart sink. What made Eddie second-guess himself was the fact that Buck had a girlfriend. -

Summary
Ravi shook his head in disbelief. He still couldn’t believe that someone like Hen would hide something like this for such a long time.
“Do you think she’ll be able to come back?”
“Well, not before we see how the treatment goes, I guess, but I have to be positive. I can’t lose Hen on top of everything.”
Or
Buck and Ravi talk about Hen's speech and how the team has been struggling with their grief. When Eddie joins in the conversation, it turns into a confession. -

Summary
He watched Buck slowly turn and walk toward the locker room, shoulders slumped. When Buck came back inside, he didn’t even look at him. He slung his duffel bag over his shoulder and said quietly, “See you later, Eddie.”
“Wait, Buck.”
Buck turned, and Eddie had the sudden, violent urge to sprint down the street, catch that stupid couple, and yell at them for making Buck feel this way.
Or
Eddie starts with a heartfelt speech about Buck’s worth and ends with an accidental love confession. -

Summary
The sight of Tommy stirred something in his chest, a flutter he immediately tried to ignore. It was ridiculous. He had no reason for it. Still, the sensation lingered, reminding him, again, uncomfortably of another summer long ago, jasmine thick in the air, another boy’s shoulder pressed warm against his own as Eddie had stared at the stars and pretended his heart wasn’t racing.
Or
Eddie and Tommy meet again at Bobby and Athena’s party and, somehow, keep meeting after that.
