“If it’s Kaeya you’re looking for, he’s not here today.” Albedo turned around from the door to Kaeya’s office to face Lisa. She was smiling at him from behind a stack of leather-bound books, presumably intending to restock them back on the library shelves after they’d been collecting dust in Jean’s office.
“Oh, that’s strange. I told him that the potion he requested from me a few days ago would be finished today so I expected him to be here. Has something urgent come up?”
“I doubt you noticed, but he does ask for medical leave from time to time. Apparently, it’s something he can’t help, but why should I care as long as his responsibilities don’t end up landing on my table. Maybe you could try and see if he’s home.”
Albedo hummed a thanks, wheels turning around in his mind. He suspected that the reason behind Kaeya’s sudden medical leave was the same reason why Kaeya had asked him for the potion a few days earlier. The same reason why Albedo had been brewing that specific potion for himself since the age of fifteen.

When I came back home after my second year, I was so angry and frustrated that neither Daphne nor my father knew what to do with me. My aunt Fiona then suggested that I start keeping a journal. Naturally, both my father and Daphne were absolutely delighted with Fiona's idea and a few days before I started my third year, I found a thick leather-bound notebook on my desk.
At the time, I thought it was just another way for my family to spy on me (for some reason, they keep trying to fix me even though I've crossed the threshold of being beyond repair long ago). So I vowed to myself that if I ever started keeping a journal, I would only write in it at Watford and the notebook itself would never leave my room in the Mummers House. And that Snow would never find out about it.
