it happens like this :
when sasuke comes back, despite everything, there’s a hole. a hole where the tender moments her and naruto would spent together, a hole where her “love” for sasuke had laid nestled, a huge, gaping hole where her concept of family and love and everything in between had sat comfortably.
she spends most her days in the hospital, buried under mounds of work. she eats the disgusting cafeteria food (“sorry, i won’t be able to join you guys for lunch, i have so much work to do haha,”), sleeps in her small, dimly lit office and pulls away from her former friends. she hides the pain in her eyes and shoves down her jealousy and pretends everything’s okay.

Summary
More often than not, a young Uchiha Sasuke finds his mind drifting to that Day.
The Day that was so important, so drastically life changing that it tore away everything and everyone Sasuke held dear.
He is so close, so close to falling off the edge. He is six feet under, under the water; clawing desperately for an escape, for a way to escape the harsh, cold waters.
But he is too far gone.
He is unreachable, cold and distant.
Itachi dug a grave, and now Sasuke has to lie in it.

Summary
Eren is strong. Unbreakable, and yet.

Sometimes Armin feels as if all it would take was one more person, one more death, one more betrayal.
For that is all Eren has known, and that is all Eren is.
In all his beautiful glory, Eren is a destructive torrent of devastating anger and hate.
Nothing more, nothing less.
And yet.
And yet Eren, in all his eminence, is able to love.
Which is more, so much more than others can say.
So much more than Armin can say.But love is a complicated thing.
Love corrupts, it twists and it distorts.
It is so much easier to hate.
But hate isn’t the opposite of love. It is indifference. And that is a painful thing to realise indeed.

Summary
Sometimes Naruto swam.
Through the cold waters of the rivers surrounding and running down Konoha’s lush forests. Encircled by rocks and weeds, the muddy dirt filtering between his toes.
For a second, he remembered a dream.
A distant hope, at first whispered into his thin, stringy sheets as a reassurance on the worst nights, then declared from the highest rooftops, out in the open for everyone to hear.
A dream torn apart by his companions, left in the dust. Ripped and burned by the very people intended to be his family, those he’d supposed to depend on, and them, in turn depend on him.
A promise, of peace.
Naruto closed his eyes.

However, the brain can only hold so much before it begins to eat itself slowly. So, he lists, catalogues, recalling only what is needed in the moment— and when the thoughts come, dark, twisted, and looming overhead— he moves. Never staying in one place for too long, they can't catch him if he does.
So Parrot moves, remembers, gets caught in some fictitious questline that borders on providence, and moves again. He lists, learns a few names that get added to a roster of contacts on his communicator. Gains enemies, too many at times. Then lists again. He gains a status, a quote of infamy.
Nothing ever stays too long, not with him.

Summary
Wifies shouldn’t be trusted with that amount of power over a person. Parrot’s realized that first hand.
Parrot picks up his stone pickaxe and starts digging.
He shouldn’t stay in one place for too long. But at this point, he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. He knows he needs rest. He’s not a complete idiot. Parrot feels the exhaustion in his bones, in the way that he lets his working wing drag on the rough stone behind him, too tired to keep it above it, and in the way that his feet thump, no longer light and agile.
Or,
Parrot escapes Wifies, and ends up at the base of two equally dangerous people. Branzy and Clownpierce.

Summary
Branzy remembers the early days he spent with Clown. He knows that in another timeline, in another world, their relationship probably ended up similar to the one that Parrot and Wifies have. It’s a scary thought to Branzy. The idea that Clown would look at him with the intent to harm.
Originally, Branzy had been worried that Clown wouldn’t let Parrot stay. That he might attack the avian the second he saw him, actually. But whatever doubts Clown had in his mind clearly went away the second Parrot had woken up. When he scrambled back against the wall, eyes wide and swimming with fear.
Parrot wasn’t a pretty sight, that’s for sure. And he still isn’t.
