“I don’t think you are,” Gaara says, a half-smile toying at his lips. It seems that the part of him that once indulged in violence is not yet gone in its entirety. He could speak to the obvious tension between the two of them himself, but he selfishly wants to hear it from Naruto's own mouth—even if it unsettles the other boy.

A brief frown flits over Naruto’s face. “Uuh, Gaara, don’t you remember?” he whispers just above whispering volume. “You know, Gaara.” The frown turns into a pout.
Gaara does not, in fact, know. Nor does he remember what his boyfriend might possibly be referencing that would involve such a mortifying display of misalignment between their countries at the Kage Summit.
“You’re going to need to be more specific, Naruto.”

The grin that steals across Naruto’s face is a dangerous one. Gaara’s heart leaps in his chest.

All things considered, Gaara is very proud of his self-control.
Naruto is sitting very close to Sasuke. Naruto’s knee is pressed against Sasuke’s. Naruto keeps stealing food from Sasuke’s plate like he’s done it all his life, and Sasuke is letting him even though his expression is annoyed. Naruto keeps leaning into Sasuke when he reaches for food. Naruto keeps taking food for Sasuke. Naruto keeps bringing up things that apparently only he and Sasuke know, and then cutting himself off with a laugh and a ‘Sorry, Gaara, inside joke’.
This last item is particularly trying.
