Summary
Finally getting a taste of what his kingdom has turned into in his absence, and the lack of respect for the Morningstar name as a result, Lucifer decides that it’s time to step back into the Ring - literally and figuratively. Hell has a hierarchy, and while he has always remained at the top, it’s time to remind Hell of why he sits in the real seat of power. Without Lilith at his side, participation in Hellish society seems more daunting than ever. But it has been long enough.
He has an heir to protect and a Ring to clean up. Two birds with one stone.

Summary
She was so warm, so wanting beneath him, wet because she was bleeding and because he’d made her come with his mouth. Her legs were wrapped around his waist and her arms around his back, his lips pressed to her throat and his hands tangled in her hair.
It felt so fucking good. So good that he knew already he’d bow to the lust again in the future. He wouldn’t be able to help it, not when he always wanted it so badly.
Not when he’d never been able to have her.

Summary
“Oh, gods forbid they respond positively to you doing a good thing,” Neve deadpans. She squeezes him a little again. “That’s sort of how it works, Astarion.”
She can’t even see it. Believes the best of them all so earnestly, himself included, that she can’t see how it would all fall away without her at the center. It’s enough to make a person feel like they might actually deserve it.
“And by it, you mean…?” he asks instead.
Her huffed laugh of disbelief ruffles the hair at his neck. “Friendship, you idiot,” she answers. “And the general acquisition thereof.”
Astarion cuts a sideways look at her as best he can with her still nestled so close. “And is that what we are? Friends?”
He’d meant it to tease her, and yet finds that the silence before her answer twists his stomach. Because…he doesn’t actually know, either.
“Yes, Astarion,” Neve says gently, after a moment. “I think we’re very good friends.”
-
Neve and Astarion, continued. She's not a victim. Not a target. Not just one night it's better to forget. But then...whatever in the world could she be?

Summary
“Miss Nomani, was it?” he asked, peering at her down the length of his nose. “Neve Nomani?”
He knew her name? “I—yes, sir,” Neve stammered. “I mean—yes, my lord.”
His lip curled upward again at her obvious nerves. “And do you know who I am, Miss Nomani?”
Should she know him? Did he have the same feeling when he looked at her?
She was beginning to feel rather ill caught in that slitted gaze of his. Half of her was desperate to be out of the room, and yet the other half was transfixed. Not by his beauty—not only by his beauty—but with an inexplicable kind of sinking feeling. It went beyond simple fear; there was a sadness to it, as well. Like the sight of him was wrong, somehow. The longer she stared at him, the more it felt like someone had reached inside her chest to squeeze her heart in an icy grip.
And she couldn’t look away.
__Summoned to make a delivery to the Crimson Palace by a mysterious note, a Neve who never left Baldur’s Gate finds herself haunted in the aftermath of her meeting with the inexplicably familiar Lord Ancunín.
