Summary
Cloud Strife was never destined for greatness. Figure skating was meant to be a fun childhood hobby, an excuse to see more of the world, not an obsession. But after a chance encounter with Sephiroth at the Junior World Championships left him reeling, the only solace Cloud could find was in chasing his former hero's shadow.
One day he would beat him. He would take everything from him. And when he did, he would look down at Sephiroth from the top of that podium and etch his moment of defeat into his memory forever.
Neither would back down. Their thirst for victory would create a rivalry for the ages.

Summary
Life in Midgar wasn't cheap; a fact that Cloud had become all too aware of once he'd finally given up on his hopes of making it into SOLDIER, settling instead for daylighting as a barista and moonlighting as a sex worker to make ends meet. No matter how exhausted he felt, at least it paid the bills. Better than trudging back to Nibelheim with his tail between his legs.
Of course, working in a little coffee shop on the SOLDIER floor of the Shinra building meant that he still couldn't escape Sephiroth at his day job. And, upon receiving an offer he couldn't refuse from one of his subscribers, he couldn't help but wonder if even his side hustle might not be so safe...

Summary
Cloud had seen Sephiroth three times in his life.
Once when he was young, about ten years old, when the general returned from his first campaign in Wutai. He could remember climbing up onto the roof of his family’s bungalow so that he could get the best possible view of the silver-haired hero, young and perfect as he marched through town in his military regalia.
The second time Cloud saw Sephiroth was when his home went up in flames.
The third and final time, he would slide a knife between his ribs, straight into his heart.

He never expected to run into Sephiroth outside. And when a drink gets spilled, he finds that the General is only too happy to help him get out of those wet clothes. Perhaps the holidays have come early…
