Summary
Will Graham kills people because he gets paid good money for it. Hannibal Lecter kills people because he is a serial-killing cannibal. What happens when by pure chance, these two killers end up in the same place, at the same time, targeting the same guy?
It's much easier to sabotage the growing attraction between them than to let it evolve into something serious. It's much easier to remain distant and deny feelings than to be vulnerable in front of each other. But in the end, behind all the spitefulness and venom, there is a mutual desire to be loved.

(@HannibalAus asked for a fic set in florence during the first half of season 3, where will keeps bumping into hannibal but pretends he doesn't know hannibal, and acts as if dr fell is someone else entirely. since i have a theme of ongoing mutual deception/denial in one of my big projects at the moment, this seemed like a fun little exercise to play with that idea in a different setting!)

"Keep... this dog?" It's the first thing that's ruffled his veil.
“Yes, that one. I think she might have some Bernese in her, she's going to be attractive when she grows up. Patient too, protective, smart. Easy to train - well, as easy as any puppy is."
He sees Hannibal look down at the furry body. "These are your terms."
"You can reject them, if you like," Will says archly, "but just know that if you accept them and anything happens to that dog, or Alana, I will kill you myself."
