Summary
It’s 1993, and Will has left Hawkins behind him. He's built a decent life for himself in New York City, a life without Mike. He has an apartment along with amazing new friends who take him to a concert for a new upcoming band without knowing the man front and center on stage is the very man he's been desperately trying to dig out of his brain for the last four years.
He listens closely to the meaningful lyrics, and he feels a rush of resentment hit him with the weight of a bus. He hates Mike for making him feel like he was just seeing things, like there was nothing there, but there always was.
Will can't keep telling himself he doesn't hold a grudge. His anger quickly overtakes his pain, and he takes it all out on Mike.
Can Mike get Will to forgive him? Can he convince him to go on tour with him, move into his apartment with him in LA, or will he fuck it all up?

Richie Tozier knew he liked Will Byers since he was seven years old, and in the Summer of 1985, he finally got the chance to shoot his shot, much to Mike Wheeler's annoyance. The two then fell in love and maintained a secret summer romance, which, for unexplained reasons, ended when Will moved to California. Then, a few years later, when by chance they end up roommates at NYU, it forces them both to confront their pasts, both individually and together. As they get to know each other again and slowly piece together their past, they determine whether or not their first love ever really ended.

Mike leaned forward, careful not to crowd him, “First we need to try to find a way to turn the lights back on. Reverse what you did. Mike was sick of them. Sick of their double dates, their couple's costumes, inside jokes and plans they just have to make a 'couples thing'. Sure, the six of them still hung out together all the time, but Mike and Will would always end up ostracized by default, unable to communicate with them now they only spoke the language of love and nothing else. And that summer, at the cottage, it definitely wouldn't be any different.
