It’s 1993, and Will has left Hawkins behind him. He's built a decent life for himself in New York City, a life without Mike. He has an apartment along with amazing new friends who take him to a concert for a new upcoming band without knowing the man front and center on stage is the very man he's been desperately trying to dig out of his brain for the last four years.
He listens closely to the meaningful lyrics, and he feels a rush of resentment hit with the weight of a bus. He hates Mike for making him feel like he was just seeing things, like there was nothing there, but there always was.
Will can't keep telling himself he doesn't hold a grudge. His anger quickly overtakes his pain, and he takes it all out on Mike.
Can Mike get Will to forgive him? Can he convince him to go on tour with him or move into his apartment with him in LA, or will he fuck it all up?

“This is it, watch this Hollzy.” Bood points at the screen as if Shane wasn't completely enraptured by the sight of Ilya on his knees. Ilya with sweat glistening across his face, down his chest. Ilya expressing pleasure, mixed beautifully with desperation, so well. He could do with watching this again, maybe in the comfort of his own bunk if he could figure out a way to get Bood to send him the video without raising questions. “You get me closer to God!” Ilya screams. With that, he finishes the chorus, Hayden slamming down on his guitar, the sound echoing through the venue. The camera shakes for a second while the fan recording screams wildly, before focusing back on Ilya. He has a hand running slowly down his chest like a stripper might, a measly 3 of the buttons on his shirt fully buttoned. While he trails down his body, Ilya takes the microphone into his mouth, tilting his head back and lowering the metal slowly down his throat.
“What the fuck..” Shane manages to rasp out, earning a big laugh from the room.

Shane Hollander is a freelance concert photographer with a day job at a camera shop, a bank account in active distress, and a long-standing professional fixation on Ilya Rozanov, front man of the Russian rock band Rozanov.
Professional. Definitely professional.
For years, Shane has shot Ilya from the pit: first three songs, no flash, get the shot, get out. Then Rozanov’s lead guitarist gets arrested at the border, the tour starts rearranging itself around disaster, and Shane finds himself getting closer to the machine than any photographer is supposed to get.
A photo pass becomes a backstage pass. A backstage pass becomes a job. Access becomes proximity.
And proximity, unfortunately, has consequences.

In the summer of 2016, up and coming rock group Sour Milk rose to popularity with the release of their second album, Nothin’ Good, and subsequent nationwide tour. The band, which consists of four siblings native to Chicago, Illinois, first gained popularity on the internet, posting videos of them playing popular covers and a few original songs. Reel Records signed them two years ago, and they’ve been on the rise ever since.
We sat down with every member of the band individually, as well as some of their more well known associates from that summer. Thirteen months after one of the most shocking and memorable performances of their careers and the end of the Nothin’ Good tour, they’re ready to share their story.
