In the summer of 2016, up and coming rock group Sour Milk rose to popularity with the release of their second album, Nothin’ Good, and subsequent nationwide tour. The band, which consists of four siblings native to Chicago, Illinois, first gained popularity on the internet, posting videos of them playing popular covers and a few original songs. Reel Records signed them two years ago, and they’ve been on the rise ever since.
We sat down with every member of the band individually, as well as some of their more well known associates from that summer. Thirteen months after one of the most shocking and memorable performances of their careers and the end of the Nothin’ Good tour, they’re ready to share their story.

Just to make shareholders happy. Where is the line?” A line that never existed for Deborah until Ava. “Well, for me it’s right here, right now.” Deborah heads back to Vegas, Ava stays in L.A. Ava returns for a vacation in Hawaii with Deborah that turns into a residency in Singapore. Ava watches the woman she loves spiral out of control. Deborah is in a drunk haze running from reality and making decisions out of fear.

It's 1977. The Bang Bang is going on tour. Tom is warring with himself over his feelings for Barry. Barry is experimenting and becoming increasingly confident and self-assured. They write songs, they engage in the classics of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and they meet in the middle.
“You got any song ideas?” he asks.
“The lakes,” Barry says. “I wanna sing about the ripples in the water and the murky depths.”
“Yeah,” Tom says, “Like a metaphor, for life. How you could swim to the other side battling against the currents under water, you know, contend with life’s trials and tribulations, or drown, give up.”
Barry gets a look in his eyes that Tom knows only too well. It’s a mixture of concern and confusion. “No, I didn’t mean it like a metaphor. I meant it as a thing that is.”
“Could be both,” Tom says.
