Summary
He presses the backs of his hands against his closed eyes, paper fluttering down, images of a mangled corpse crawling from the quiet, ever-growing, paranoid part of himself. It had happened.

Summary
"His wife though, Betty – lovely woman, a real ally."
"Ally?"
"Made, uh, one too many cheeky comments about us getting back to nature and being true to ourselves, how only the stars will be watching – " Gordon doesn't know why he's relaying any of this, but he's nervous, and as usual he can't shut the bloody hell up when he's nervous.
Warren laughs. "What?"
What if Warren didn't hear that tape and they actually made it to the bothy?

Summary
The table has been silent for 31 painstaking seconds—Nath has counted each one. During it, details that escaped him, for he is fixed on his plate of Hamburger Helper, his little sister Hannah soaks in like a sponge cleaning a mess: their mom, mouth opening to say something, then shutting so fast Hannah thinks she hears the thunk of teeth, then opening again; their dad, staring at Nath like a stranger who’s wandered in through the back door and sat down at the table; and Nath himself, fingers curling tighter and tighter around his fork until Hannah fears it might snap in two.
At the thirty-third second, Nath finally says something. “I just—” his voice strains out of him in a thin line “—thought you should know.”
Everything Nath Lee never told his parents about his relationship with the boy across the street.

Summary
And Snow, brilliant supernova Snow, just leans to me as he smiles. “See,” he whispers even quieter. He prods his finger into my cheek and sends me spiraling. I’m smiling. Smiling. “This Baz doesn’t kill me for sayin’ jack shit.”
“’M not gonna kill you, Snow,” I mumble, my hands finding themselves on his knees. Thighs. They slid down to his thighs, and now he’s pinker in the cheeks than before, but laughing. He’s laughing so much. I want to implode.

The bathtub of their shared bathroom is quite large; it’s deep enough to comfortably fit two people, and if you shift just right around the spout, you can sit face to face with relative comfort. The boys find something special in there, making it seemingly the only place where they can stand each other.

Summary
If Richard noticed their attentions, he disregarded it as no more than his own mind conjuring his desires up for him, a self-absorbed visitor to the museum imagining that the painted eyes of a favored portrait were directed at him.
