Brennan and Booth run into and discuss ex-lovers, affirming their love for each other and their hopes for the future.
“Bow chikka-wow-wow, Bones,” he explained happily, “you know, when things are goin’ good and you’re about to get lucky. Booow chikka-wow-wow!”
“Alright, Booth,” she said mid-chuckle, her voice deeper from affection.
There was a pause. “Y’know Bones, I am really happy we’re doing this.” His voice was warm and deep and it made goosebumps rise on her arms.
“I am, too,” she replied softly.

Summary
Midway through S6E22, The Hole in the Heart, a heartbroken Bones crawls into bed with Booth, sobbing against his chest—and then we moved to commercial. We then found out alongside Angela that the two of them hooked up between scenes, and thousands of fans everywhere undoubtedly shouted their grievance at the TV back in 2011. We hadn't even gotten a kiss! The outrage!
I might be 15 years late writing this story, but this is my take on what happened shortly after we cut to commercial. Booth and Bones finally in a bed together, both of them hurting and trying to process the loss of a friend.
