The rain drops feel like bliss against their skin, fevered from the fight, from the fresh kill. The rain keeps them conscious, attached to the real world. They force their eyes to stay open. They fear if they let them fall shut they would not open them again and they could not bear the thought of not seeing every detail in the scene before them. They wanted to absorb it, etch it into the walls of their minds forever more. The inky wings of blood, black in the moonlight, spreading beneath Dolarhyde’s motionless form.

Summary
Both Will and Hannibal, complete strangers to one another, are at a high-end nightclub with the same goal: to hunt and kill. Hannibal, drawn to the venue by the rude, arrogant behavior of its wealthy patrons, scans the room with cold detachment, looking for a suitable target. Will, on the other hand, despises the casual cruelty of the elite, despite now blending seamlessly into their world. When Will spills his drink on Hannibal, seemingly by accident, it sparks an unexpected tension between them. Will’s smooth apology, laced with flirtation, intrigues Hannibal just enough to alter his plan—he decides then and there that this man will be his prey.
Unbeknownst to Hannibal, Will had marked him from the beginning as the embodiment of everything he detests and had been planning his own kill. What begins as a ruse to lure Hannibal into a secluded space turns into something far more dangerous and intimate.
Pre-canon story that explores an alternate first meeting between Hannibal and an already dark Will.
