The blond lets a couple more curses that were just a bit too loud slip past his throat as he stiffens under Izuku’s grip.
“Because,” Izuku finally says, “I can’t.”
“But I’m a Career—you’ll need to kill me soon enough or-” he hisses when Izuku accidentally presses down too hard, ”Or I'll end up killing you.”
Izuku turns his gaze up sharply, “So? Does it really look like that matters to me?”
Or, the Hunger Games never end well. Izuku doesn't know why he ever expected them to when he stepped foot in the arena. There was only one winner, after all.

Summary
Izuku has lived his life accepting the fact that he is not equal to his peers. It was simply a fact of life, one that he learned shortly after being diagnosed as quirkless spurring on disaster after disaster in Izuku’s life. Turning towards vigilantism as a last hope to be someone’s hero, he begins to discover that the diagnosis given to him at five years old may not have been accurate.
