When they were kids, Lucie used to tell James that his inability to say no to pretty girls was going to kill him.
It was a ridiculous thought, of course; the way James used to let Grace Blackthorn walk all over him when they were seventeen didn’t have anything to do with the fact she was pretty, and everything to do with the fact James had been hopelessly and desperately in love with her.
However, at twenty-two years old, as he’s about to walk into Grace’s wedding to someone else, with Matthew hanging from his arm, James thinks that Lucie might have been right. Maybe he does have a problem saying no to pretty girls.

Dustin’s eyes are wide, looking slightly mortified, Lucas’ eyebrows are furrowed in blatant confusion, and Max looks like she wants Mike to never open his mouth if those were the words he was going to speak. Mike can’t help the way he immediately flushes.
