"I could make you enjoy my voice a lot more, you know. If you let me.” It's the alcohol talking. And the bravado of the space and distance between them– nothing but a million particles in space bouncing off one another connecting their call.

There was a pregnant moment of silence before Light spoke, tasting the foreign word on his tongue.

“If I do this, are you going to stop accusing me of being Kira?” It's a valid question and gives L a moment of thought.
“Yes,” L lied easily.
And then L squeezed, applying the pressure around Light's hand, cutting off his own airway. Light’s eyes darkened in the glow of the light.
