“That’s how I died,” Kravitz said, and Taako’s fingers flinched away. Kravitz grasped Taako’s wrist, pulled those fingers up to his mouth for a reassuring kiss.
“I…” And gods, there’s nothing Kravitz hated so much as Taako not knowing what to say to him.
“It doesn’t bother me.”
“I didn’t know.” Taako’s touch was featherlight now, reverent.
“And that’s not very fair to you, is it?”

Kravitz just hadn’t expected to be holding Taako, kissing him with the full weight of want and relief amidst the rubble and ruin of the world the first moment they saw each other and knew that they were safe. And well, he’s lived a long time in his undeath, seen a lot of things, but he’ll never forget standing there with Taako’s legs wrapped around his waist and the way he looked in that moment: makeup smeared, bloodied, exhausted. Beautiful. Ecstatic. Loved.

“Don’t be stupid,” Sherlock says, after a long pause whilst he attempts to stare John down, and John responds with only raising his brow mildly.
“Don’t be coy,” John says in return.
That is Sherlock’s apparent breaking point, and before John has much chance to react—not that he’d particularly like to fight back in this instance—he’s pressed against the door to the flat with one of Sherlock’s legs sliding right between his own and their faces millimeters apart. John could tilt his chin up and they’d be kissing, but that would mean that Sherlock wins.

Yuri hummed. His body didn’t uncurl, but instead of pressing his face into the fold of his legs, he rested it on his crossed forearms. Tilting his face towards Otabek, he looked for the bronze metal. The colorful ribbon snuck into the folds of his jacket, hiding his prize from view. Yuri reached out, and Otabek let him pull the ribbon to bring the metal into the light.
It was beautiful. Heavy and ornate, with the front masterfully detailed. The perfect symbol of success. Yuri flipped it over, admiring Otabek’s name carved along the back.
Wait.
“Did they spell your name wrong?” he demanded, straightening. Otabek made a noise beside him.
It takes three years for Yuri to figure himself out and get his head on right. He drags everyone along for the ride. Otabek is the only one to go willingly.
