Nirei bites his lip. That's true enough but—"I saw you. Looking at those boxes. For hair dyeing..."
Anyone would feel compelled to change just to fit in. To feel normal. Nirei would; he would change his hair too to feel stronger, braver, better.
But Sakura already is strong. Brave. Better—by miles in comparison. In all the ways Nirei has felt too pathetic to measure himself. And because Sakura radiates with all of those things already, seeing him consider changing himself doesn't sit right with Nirei.
It hurts right in the depths of his stomach and bottom of his heart.
(OR Nirei expresses a concern for Sakura, which leads to a mild scolding but mostly light hearted teasing).
