“i can’t,” says yoongi, but he tugs a little on jeongguk’s wrist anyway. dips his head, kisses the back of jeongguk’s hand. “you know i can’t.”
what jeongguk knows is: yoongi smokes when he’s anxious, even though he’s not supposed to and gets in trouble every time he’s caught with the smell on his breath. yoongi has a spot right behind his knees that makes him giggle uncontrollably if tickled but he’ll never admit to it. when they were in high school, yoongi used to steal him during free periods and buy him milkshakes or root beer floats or anything he wanted, just to lick the stickiness right out of his mouth. now it’s—different. he knows a lot about yoongi. knows, too, that yoongi can’t stay, not anymore, no matter how many times jeongguk asks. no matter how prettily he begs.
(or: no matter how famous he gets, yoongi can never quite let go of his high school sweetheart. but jeongguk is so, so tired of holding on.)

Summary
yoongi's words come out twisted and muffled by the cherry lollipop. jungkook wants to kiss him. he also wants yoongi to shut up but, well. that's nothing but criteria he has to meet in order to honor his pierced lip, leather-clad persona.
"are you okay?" jungkook asks, tilting his head to the side. "you're not making any sense right now."
yoongi's expression goes from thoughtful to blank to mournful in a split second. he pouts his lips, lowers his brows and jungkook's heart decides it's a great time to inflate and scorch like hot air balloons.
"i'm not okay," yoongi answers. his fake sad eyes bore into jungkook's forcefully sad ones. "i promise."
suddenly, shutting yoongi up with a kiss doesn't seem like a bad idea.
