Komaeda makes a small, embarrassed chuckle. “It’s not worth talking about.”
“What?” Hajime turns again from the truck he returned to. “You asked me first!”
But he remains with that plastic smile, hiding whatever he’d have to tell if he ever chose to be actually honest. Why even bother being sincere for once if he’s not going to return the sentiment? Hajime should have better ignore it, do the same as usual and act like he hasn’t heard anything.
Why must communication be so peculiar with this man?
If the apocalypse is the new ordinary, then this is a slice of life. Five years after the emergence of the Infected, Hinata and Komaeda grasp on each other’s lives. There has to be somewhere safe in this world.
