Summary
George made his and most kids' childhood dream come true, traveling the world while piloting the most technologically advanced machinery to this day at hundreds of kilometers per hour: he became an airplane pilot. Being literally above the clouds, he hadn’t expected to grow so exhausted by the routine — but he wasn’t ready to give up his career.
Until a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity fell into his hands… a Formula 1 driver had just bought a private jet and was willing to pay for a pilot to work exclusively for him, all season round. During the race weekend, he could do whatever he wanted to. However… what if what he wanted was to be with Max Verstappen?

“Max,” George finally says, after silence has stretched on for a few seconds.
He takes a step closer. Max takes a step back.
“Hey. Come on,” George breathes, and stills, cocking his head aside as he takes in the distance between them. After a few seconds, he throws a hand forward, towards Max, palm open.
“I thought I was welcome on the Nordschleife,” Max mutters through gritted teeth.
“Well, you are, aren’t you? With open arms, I’ll add,” George smiles, bright and open, unguarded.
Max squints at him, nostrils flaring in annoyance.
Still, he reaches forward, after a beat of hesitation. His fingers have barely touched George’s palm before he’s pulled in, closer and closer until their chests touch, and George’s arms close in around him, hands landing at Max’s waist.
“You’re not making this easy for yourself, huh?” The words are whispered into his hairline, just as gentle hands brush up his spine, tracing a path to his shoulders.
Max doesn’t answer, though a sigh slips past his lips as he allows himself to rest his forehead to George’s collarbone, closing his eyes.

Summary
George Russell is finally where he has longed to be his entire racing career: in a head-to-head title fight with Max Verstappen, holding his own against the four-time World Champion. With six races left in the season, George is closer than ever to what his every waking thought has been consumed by – not only becoming World Drivers’ Champion, but beating Max while he’s at it.
But then a collision on track changes everything: George wakes up in Max’s body, and Max in his.

“And how would that sound, Max?” He couldn’t wait for an answer; it might convince him. “ ‘I know we said we’d be going to Brackley as a full team to celebrate the win with the whole factory, but I wanted to hang out a little longer, I’ll catch a ride home with Verstappen in a couple hours’ ? “
An eyebrow arched. “A couple hours you think, Russell? Interesting.”
