Summary
In this world, there are regular people, and then there are Extraordinary People. The problem is, no one wants to see or hear about those extraordinary people. Who would want to, given the destruction they leave in their wake? Who would think them extraordinary at all considering the absolutely obliterated town of Phandalin, the destroyed worker's haven of Raven's Roost, the lost town of Refuge, the City of Glamour Springs, which somehow, everyone forgot.

Summary
Everything changed in the blink of an eye. From that day on, his life was doomed to misery, pain and suffering. There wasn't a day that Alatus didn't dream of freedom — even though he knew, consciously, that it would never come.
His torturous days changed when his master allowed him to see the golden cage. And in that moment, with the awakening of that feeling, he thought that freedom might be something more ephemeral and simple than he could ever imagine.
Unfortunately, even the purest of feelings wouldn't be safe from the grasp of their master. For, in the end, they were like caged birds — beautiful and untouchable.

"Oh, my dear Albedo…” Master softly murmurs. “That is not what I meant. You didn't fail because my ultimate assignment is not one you can fail.”
Her hands, the very same hands that once shaped him from a formless clump of coagulated chalk, cradle his face.
"Live, my little chalk prince," Master pleads. "That's all I ever wanted from you.”
Albedo finally looks up at an impossibly sad face.
"Live."
The corruption finally comes for Albedo. But instead of bringing about the homunculus' end, Albedo's friends and family join him on a desperate mission that involves the slumbering dragon Durin, Fatui Harbingers, and a revelation his heart may not be ready to accept.
