Summary
"Alex knew that voice all too well. It wasn’t the quiet tone Olivia used when they were lounging at either of their apartments, it wasn’t the sultry voice that often floated up from between Alex’s legs, nor was it the melody Alex loved to hear when Olivia whispered, ‘I love you’ as they fell asleep together.
No, this voice was reserved for injured victims, the one she frequently heard pulling her out of panic attacks. This was Olivia Benson, victim advocate. A woman willing to help anyone in need, who puts compassion before safety half the time. In a way, it was weirdly touching to Alex to hear that Olivia was trying to do everything she could to reassure her she wasn’t dying. It made Alex fall a little harder for her.
Man, dying was weird.
