Summary
Greg Heffley thought he could slack off in high school and figure things out later. For crying out loud, his dad and uncle planned his future until he was 30! However, it's a tough world, and Greg has to hit the books if he wants to get anywhere near his dreams. After getting used to the simple, monotonous life of homework, hallway gossip, and his hyperfixation on getting his goal, he thinks all will go well.
Until he's partnered up with the blonde devil himself. Bryce Anderson. All for some stupid English project. Bryce is insatiable, impatient, impossible, and Greg would do ANYTHING to get this project done as quickly as possible.
But... Bryce isn't as bloodthirsty or as incubus for popularity as Greg imagined, and now he wonders if the stupidly handsome, once middle school king, is really what he seems.

Weekend… anyone else would be excited. Being home all day around loved ones without a care in the world. I honestly prayed sometimes that my family was like that. Between mom doing everything in her power to ignore all the bad things that are happening and putting all her time into Manny, or dad and Rodrick screaming at each other at the top of their lungs, I don’t know what drives me crazier. Ever since their “fight” where dad just “happened” to bash a glass bottle against Rodrick’s head, the air became kind of awkward. Nobody wants to say the wrong thing. All of this just makes me wonder…Were they always like this? Was there a time that they both got along?
Or
Rodrick and Greg make plan to get away from there abusive parents
