In a world where Grisha exist, everyone ordinary is terrified. Surely if one has powers, no matter the type, then they will take advantage of them? Surely this will lead to everyone normal getting hurt? Surely that isn’t something that should ever, ever happen?
So the Grisha are being hunted, classified as a threat only certain individuals are adept enough to handle. It’s for the world’s safety, after all.
Nikolai is a detective in one such unit. Zoya is a commanding officer. Both are incredible at their job. Both are hiding terrifying secrets.
When a series of murders whose all signs point towards a dangerously powerful Grisha makes its way to the agency, Zoya and Nikolai are assigned the case, and ordered to work together. They’re both horribly stubborn, impossible to get along with, and push themselves to the limit, expecting everyone around them to do the same. They’d get along perfectly, right?
Wrong.
And as the stakes get higher and the two begin to realise there is so much more to this than just a serial-killer-gone-rogue case, they’re forced to think about exactly where they stand- in this world, and with each other.
