Summary
The bubble didn't seem to give off any heat, or any particular cold. His hand hovering about the shifting surface didn't feel affected in any way. He used his teeth to remove a glove and checked again just in case.
Nothing.
Just light and colors. Hesitently, Gepard pressed his palm to the orb. There was a sudden feeling of vertigo. Colors bled and swam around him, his ears popped and sound fizzled out before fizzling back in again. But the sound that reached him was strikingly different than the silence he'd been in before.
It wasn't silent anymore. The sound was distinctly /debauched/. The smell of sex hit him a second later and colors fell into place like a painting being dropped onto a canvas.

Summary
When Kaveh announces that he’ll need to temporarily stop taking suppressants, Alhaitham assumes that he must be an omega. After all, that’s the only logical reason that Kaveh would have pretended to be a beta for all this time. It’s the only logical reason that Kaveh would ask Alhaitham, an alpha, to leave the house for two weeks.
Except Alhaitham has made a rare miscalculation—and helping Kaveh will be much more difficult than Alhaitham expected, when his own instincts keep pulling him in two different directions.
“To clarify,” Alhaitham says, “you’re saying you’ll feel safer if I’m not here. Do I have that correct?”
“That—that’s not exactly what I said.”
“You said that you don’t know if it’s safe. That implies a degree of uncertainty, which means that you’ll feel less uncertain—and therefore safer—if I’m not around.” When Kaveh doesn’t respond, Alhaitham adds, “I’m just making sure I understand the situation correctly.”
“To be honest,” Kaveh says, “I don’t think you understand the situation at all.”

Rerir stalks Flins from somewhere behind a large rock formation, gaze piercing through him like a predator stalking it's prey, although he means no harm, not yet. He's simply observing. Long since have lost interest in that stupid lantern and the fragment of his former mortal shell inside, he haunts Flins like a ghost, an action seemingly meaningless; however it would all be worth it.
Or,
Rerir wishes to kill Flins in exchange for all the suffering he has brought to him previously, but it backfires on him miserably.

Coming to a halt next to the bed, the Herald bent down and picked the key up. It looked comically small in his hand.
“This key? This opens up all your restraints?”
“Yes.” Jayce nodded slowly.
“Good,” the Machine Herald said. Then, he let the key vanish into a pouch on his hip.
Jayce’s stomach dropped. He felt his throat tightening with fear, and he instinctively started pulling on his restraints again while trying to move away. His heart was hammering against his chest so fast it started to hurt.
“Relax, Jayce. I have no intention to hurt you. At least… not more than you’d enjoy.”
