Summary
Fate is not the judgments of providence, nor scrolls written by the hand of a demiurge, nor is it fatalism. Fate is full of judgments. Full of hopes. Torn asunder by vengeance, believing that what is meant to happen, will happen.
Rhaelys Targaryen was the kind of woman the entire court admired, who could make even the sternest lord forget his worries. Sister to the Queen Who Never Was, she was also known by a title she did not choose for herself: "The Scaleless Targaryen." For she possessed no dragon.
But she was a dragon, made of blood and fire. And dragons, they know their own. Rhaelys could feel their flames devouring all in their path, in a dance of dragons that would set brother against brother and dragon against dragon.
Dragons were known for their flames, for ruling the skies, but when the realm assented to the union of Rhaelys and Daemon, they did not realize they were granting them a power beyond that which even once-great Valyria had known: dominion over the dragons.
And so, during the Dance, the eyes of the realm turned to Rhaelys and Daemon, for in the old chronicles of Valyria, wars waged by Dragon Dogmas erupted in flame and ended in blood.

Summary
(n.) frustration, anger, or aggression directed inward, to oneself and one's way of living.
"I am a Drascar; I was born to be a dragon rider."
Lethe has known her fate from the moment she'd been born. Each and every person who carried the same last name ended up either dead, or as one of Navarre's elite. With a bloodline of dragon riders, it had been obvious which path she would aspire to take; she was quick-witted and able to play the longer, deadlier games. She has always been her father's daughter, and the lure of dragon back beckoned her just as it once did him. Only, their family was very small in number now, and she was the last one capable of defending their name, thus her family's legacy rested solely in her hands.
To fail, means to diminish the Drascars' reputation. Fortunately for Lethe, failure has never been an option.
