His jaw clenched every time he saw Buck throwing his head back, hips rolling with the bull’s movement. It was impossible to look away. Which is probably why he didn’t notice Maddie appearing next to him.
„You know, I don’t think you’ve blinked once since he got on that thing.“
Eddie startled, was it that obvious? He had to come up with an excuse. And, well, Eddie Diaz came up with the worst excuse possible. „He’s gonna get himself hurt.“
Maddie’s grin widened, knowingly. „That’s not why you’re watching.“

Summary
There had always been a thread connecting Buck and Eddie together.
From the moment they met, it was just BuckandEddie. No space between them. Through every disaster, every close call, every time the world tilted sideways—they felt it. Just an invisible string keeping the two tethered as one.
Neither of them ever expected that line to break.
And they certainly never thought it breaking would end with Buck getting swallowed whole by hundreds of pounds of rubble.
Or a rewrite of 8x18 where the zip line breaks and Buck gets trapped beneath the rubble.
