“Since when can you take me down, kitty?” Carag returned the nickname, getting into position as well.
Dorian stared at him for a few seconds. Carag didn’t look away, not even when he saw an innocent, mischievous smirk appearing on his friend’s lips… until Carag’s eyes swam back to Dorian’s.
“Since you stopped paying attention every time I look you in the eyes,” Dorian remarked, leaving Carag speechless as he charged at him too quickly.

Ronno could have been having a good day.
But no.
Bambi had to exist to throw at him the craziest question he’d ever heard.
“You want me to be your… what?”
Someone else in the forest is getting a little too flirtatious and close to Bambi, and without thinking twice, Bambi tells them he already has a mate: Ronno.
At first, Ronno agrees to fake the relationship just to annoy the deer that was bothering Bambi. But as the lie progresses, they both begin to notice that their supposed fake relationship as mates has more chemistry than they imagined.

“And who is it with?” Bambi breathed, almost pleading. He felt tired all of a sudden.
“All I can tell you is that now your heart is lost, and it needs to be found.” His father offered him a warm smile, sympathizing with Bambi. “You have to find the moment where it was lost and there you will find everything you want to know. You will know how to do everything you could not do, son.”

Bambi suddenly hissed through clenched teeth and turned his head back toward his thigh, breaking eye contact. That time Ronno saw what he was doing—Bambi was licking himself with a little eagerness. But he also saw what he was licking.
Ronno’s breathing stopped for a few seconds.
A wound. A bad wound.
Ronno completely got rid of his smirk, his posture, and his voice came out more serious, harsher than expected when he asked Bambi,

“Uh, Bambi, what are you doing?”
“Huh?” Bambi blinked a few times and raised his ears. He looked away from the blur of deer and looked down at Thumper, who had appeared next to him and spoken to him. He also came accompanied by Flower. “Oh… I’m watching the herd run?”
Thumper looked up at him and raised a suspicious eyebrow, somewhere between confused and amused, “Why are you answering with a question?”
Bambi quickly lowered his ears again and blushed. Flower laughed charmingly to himself, taking pity on Bambi.
“Thumper, I think it’s obvious he’s watching the herd run. But you have to see who he’s really looking at.”
Okay, Bambi may or may not be in love a little bit with Ronno. He may or may not be a bit of an impulsive deer. And that's totally fine, really.

Summary
"Ow," Bambi says after a while. Tries to shift. His head feels weighty, though. Groggy. The effort to open his eyes feels insurmountable so he doesn’t even try yet. He’s dizzy and sore, but Bambi figures that can be shaken off after standing. Nothing feels broken, after all.
He starts up on his hind legs first, but halts. It feels wrong instantly, shoots pins and needles down from his antlers.
Bambi tries instead a different approach, shifts his head side to side. It's oddly heavy, strains his neck towards the forest floor so he has no choice but to bend at the knees to keep upright.
"Are you fucking kidding me," A voice hisses, close. Bambi open his eyes, tries to look up but is stopped short. It doesn’t hurt but it’s uncomfortable, pulls a groan from both of them.
Both of them, Bambi realizes.
"Quit moving," The voice grouses.
"I'm not," Bambi defends towards the ground. "What happened?"
"Well, princess," It starts, sardonic and accusatory. But more than that, familiar. "You got us locked up."
“I’m not a,” Bambi starts reflexively then stops. Realizes. “Ronno?”
“Yeah,” He confirms in a spit. A note deeper than Bambi remembers but undeniable. “Who else?”
