“Sub thing is your thing, Hollander,” Ilya reminds him.
Slowly, Shane argues, “Actually, I don’t think it is. I mean, yeah, that part is my thing. But I think you like it, too.”
“Always like sex with you.”
“Not the sex. Or – yeah, of course it’s the sex too. But I think it’s for reasons other than just the sex.”
A chuckle bubbles up out of Ilya, and it dislodges the lump in his throat just a little. “Always so many words and you make no sense.”
Laughing too, Shane explains, “What I mean is, the whole being a dom, thing. I think it’s good for you, too, and not just because the sex is fun. I think it settles you, in the same way it settles me.”
On the anniversary of his father's death Ilya is feeling unsteady; Shane has an idea.
