Summary
He knew the way a man was knighted, and had been knighted himself. Davos of Flea Bottom was perhaps not much to look at, but his strange sad face, the way his hair was just long enough to be tied back, his easy way of carrying himself even in the face of imminent danger, the way he hadn’t blinked an eye at Stannis saying he might still chop his hand off, it was just enough. Just enough that when Stannis imagined him kneeling in front of him, loose strands of hair falling into his eyes, the way he would look up at him when Stannis drew his sword, it stirred something in him. It drew thoughts from him that were not lordly. The symbology of the sword, Davos swearing his obedience. He tried not to think too much about it.
