“The priest said I should allow myself to feel good. Says I need to stop punishing myself all the time,” he repeats the same thing he’s said earlier, but Buck nods like he’s hearing about it for the first time. Their noses touch, “this doesn’t feel like a punishment,” he whispers, his eyes looking down at Buck’s mouth with hunger.
“What doesn’t?”
“You,” Eddie says against his mouth
OR : Tommy breaks up with Buck, he finds himself on Eddie’s couch, a few dirty dancing in underwear leads to life changing realization.

Eddie shrugs. “We can just order in, it's fine.” He turns to look at Buck, mirrors his position from his spot next to the sink. “You do know you don’t have to cook every night, Buck.”
“I feel bad.” Buck admits. “I’m staying over, you buy groceries, you do laundry, you drive us to work. I wanna repay you somehow.”
Eddie shakes his head. “You’re staying over because I asked you to. I do those things because you’re my best friend and I want you to be comfortable. You don’t have to do anything to repay me.” He pauses, looks right at Buck. “You do enough by just existing by my side.”

Summary
Eddie is made of shattered glass. Not like a mosaic - not something broken made beautiful. No, Eddie is all sharp points and jagged edges; he’s hurt everyone that’s ever tried to hold him.
But Buck…Buck holds him like it’s easy. Like there’s nothing else in the world he would rather be doing. He holds Eddie like he’s precious, cradling him between gentle hands with a kind of reverence that is usually reserved for something holy. Something god-like. And then Eddie catches a glimpse of him and Buck in the mirror next to Buck’s bed, and he thinks oh. He thinks maybe this is as close to heaven as a man like him will ever get.
So no one can blame him for wanting to enjoy it while it lasts.
