His tone changed. Yuuji could hear it. Sukuna was looking down at Yuuji like he was pathetic.
Despite having just gotten home, Sukuna’s already turning back to the door, yanking it open. A pit in Yuuji’s stomach, the one that appeared the day his mother left, that grew when he saw his father throwing up pills, threatens to consume him entirely now.
He races after his brother, knowing that if he doesn’t pull him back, get them to see eye to eye, he may lose him forever.
He pulls on Sukuna’s shoulder again, harsh, breath coming out uneven, scared and unsure.
Yuuji doesn’t know what his future looks like, can’t stand the idea of leaving his deadbeat and incomplete family behind. But he’s made up his mind that he cannot live without Sukuna, at the very least.
He has to stay, for him. Sukuna for Yuuji and Yuuji for Sukuna.
Or which, Yuuji and Sukuna lose their mother and as their family falls apart, Yuuji becomes obsessed with defying god and returning things to how they should be, no matter the cost.
